Pocket change is all that is required to snap up a P&O cruise for the coming summer after the line today released its latest $1 Deposit sale for selected cruises.

Valid for bookings made before 31 August 2016, you can secure a stateroom on cruises leaving from ports around Australia on 05 December 2016 or later. It’s the perfect chance to set your end-of-year holiday plans in concrete.

Normal deposit guidelines for P&O Cruises depend on the number of passengers in your cabin and the length of your voyage. Under normal circumstances, the line requires within three days of booking a minimum of $150 per adult for a sailing of four days or less (or $75 for a child aged from six months up to 12 years). This deposit amount climbs as high as $400 per adult for longer sailings of 12 nights or more, making this new offer considerably appealing if you’ve yet to make a decision on where to take your holidays this coming summer.

Comparatively, Royal Caribbean normally requires a deposit of between $100-$400, again depending on the length of your cruise, while Carnival Cruise Line requires passengers to pay between $150-$400 as a deposit.

Sweetening the P&O deal further are a number of incentives which can be piled on top of a booking made with a $1 deposit. These includes free upgrades to an Ocean View Room and free onboard credit of between $100-$600 per stateroom, depending on the category of stateroom you book. A further bonus 50% additional onboard credit will be added if booking an itinerary classified as P&O Islands or P&O Sea Break.

If you’ve cruised with P&O before, you can also enjoy a free meal in the line’s specialty dining outlet Salt Grill by Luke Mangan if booking on the line’s newest ship Pacific Explorer, which will join the fleet in May next year. Alternatively, if cruising close to home on a domestic itinerary on a P&O ‘Sea Australia’ cruise, you’ll get a free mystery shore excursion or a $200 credit towards an airfare if cruising on the line’s Asian itineraries.
